About Robert Charles

Robert Charles is from New Zealand. His unique and exclusive branding came from his identifying a collection of nature-inspired photographic images.

Each image is skilfully applied to either silk or photographic paper and then used to create a collection of accessories including ties, handkerchiefs, cummerbands, waistcoats, braces and belts.

Every item is made with no compromise on quality. It took Robert 12 years to gain a full understanding of the best techniques and find the best manufacturers in the world.

Robert Charles cufflinks are handmade in England, whilst ties and other accessories are produced in Italy. Working with the passion of the skilled local artisans in their studios and factories is a role that plays a large part in Robert's life.

About Como

Como is located at the south edge of Lake Como. The historic Duomo Cathedral was built over several centuries and has both Gothic and Renaissance features, together with fine tapestries and paintings.

The San Fedele Cathedral was built in the 10th century and is another fine sight along with the tall Porta Vittoria gateway and the Romanesque Basilica Sant'Abbondio. Spectacular views are enjoyed from the top of the hill above Como.

The civic art gallery Pinacoteca is situated at the cities' south west wall, about 300 metres from the Giovo Palace is worth a visit to view its Renaissance glass paintings.

George Clooney owns Villa Oleandra in Lake Como and also owns Villa Margherita next door.

Silk items are created by the local talented and highly-skilled craftsmen of Como and 80% of Europe's silk comes from the Lake Como region.
