How does Botox work?

Frown lines between the eyebrows and around the eyes come with time through muscle activity.

Botox is a protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium and injected directly into the muscles.

By blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles it reduces the muscle activity that causes those persistent lines.

By blocking the release of acetylcholine that stimulate overactive sweat glands the same treatment is given through tiny injections to treat armpit and hand hyperhidrosis.

Botox will work after about four days but can last more than four months.
